Jesus

You probably have an opinion about Jesus. Maybe you think that He is a great teacher or a prophet. Maybe you don't believe that He ever existed at all. Whatever you believe, we can probably agree that Jesus changed things.

We believe that He wants to change you too, and that He has paved the way back to God for you. 

​

Jesus Himself said “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 (CSB)

 

At My Safe Harbor @MBC, we want to help you meet Jesus, uncover truth, and recover your life.

• Discover Christ - We want to help you discover who Jesus really is and what He did for you.

• Uncover Truth - We want to help guide you to uncover the truth about Jesus so you can have a personal relationship with Him. 

• Recover Life - We want to help you recover your life so that you can live a life of purpose. 

Jesus is the only way to accomplish these things. It doesn't matter who you are, what you have done, where you were born, or what color your skin is, Jesus is the way for you to have a personal relationship with God.

For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 (CSB)

 

Everybody is invited. Everybody is included. Everybody is important.

 

If you think you’re an exception to the rule and that Jesus can’t possibly love or forgive you, you’re wrong. Jesus loves you. Yes…you.

 

SO HOW DO YOU ACTUALLY BECOME A CHRISTIAN?​

You just have to take a few simple steps. Look at what the Bible says:
"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9 (CSB)

That’s it.

 

Confess with your mouth and then believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord…that God raised Him from the dead, and your sins are forgiven. Your relationship with God has begun. Do this, and you’re a Christian.

BUT YOU’RE PROBABLY THINKING, “DON’T I HAVE TO BE A BETTER PERSON FIRST?”

​No, you don’t. You don’t change in order to gain God’s love, you change because you’ve experienced His love. God helps you become a better person.

When you trust Jesus as your Savior, you walk in the fullness of God’s love. Gradually, God’s love changes you as you follow Jesus. You change because you’re loved, not in order to be loved.

Through His death on the cross and then His resurrection from the dead, Jesus took all of your sin and shame, and He gave you His credit. He made you right.

If you believe that and commit to following Him, your life will never be the same. It’s as simple as repenting of your sin, declaring you want to follow Jesus, and believing He is who He says He is.

Believing in Jesus is the first step on the greatest journey of your life. You haven’t finished the race—you’ve just gotten started.
